What is my child learning about!?!
Math: We are currently learning about addition and subtraction, as well as various strategies to solve math problems. We have learned some awesome Math games to make this process more fun. Number sense is a continuous focus throughout the entire year, and we will continue to learn calendar related activities such as months/days and the ability to count by 2s, 5s, and 10s to 100,.
Language Arts: Reading & writing is a continuous focus in Grade one Language Arts. It is so exciting to see how everyone is developing and progressing. Please keep up with the home reading as much as you can–it truly makes a difference!
Science: We are have learned about colour in Science, and are now learning about the 5 senses! The 4 seasons and comparing them is a continuous topic in Science.
Social Studies: We are learning about community and what it means to be a part of a group, ie: family, class, school, town, etc.
Gym: Cooperative games, Floor Hockey, Combatives
Health: Kelso’s Choices, bucket filling, nutrition, and goals.

February 15-19: Kids off no school
February 24th: 100th day of school!!!

March 2nd: Preschool open house 6-7:00pm
March 4th: Taco in a bag HOT LUNCH
March 10th: Pizza HOT LUNCH
March 11th: PD DAY No school
March 14th: Learner profiles go home
March 16th & 17th: Parent Teacher Interviews & Book Fair. Please book your time slot on the Spitzee website.
March 18th: Hot dog HOT LUNCH
March 23rd: K-1 Talent show PM
March 24th: 2,3,4,5 talent show AM. 12:10 Dismissal
March 25-April 3rd: EASTER BREAK!!
April 4th: Welcome back to school
